August 14, we went to country fair. It took a long time to get there. There are many animals, for example, pigs, cows, sheep, rabbits. And there are some attractions. I took one attraction. It was fun. The fair’s atmosphere is like a festival. Many children played with their family. After the fair, some students went to karaoke but I didn’t go. I want to go but I’m a little tired. However, I didn’t sleep early. I washed my clothes and pack my baggage but I didn’t finish yet. I continued to pack this morning but still not finished. I have to pack my baggage at night.

Today is our last class in Maryland. I’m very sad. These two weeks passed very fast for me. I can’t believe we’ll back to Japan tomorrow. I want to stay more! All staffs are very kind and they always help me. I’m very pleased to come here, Maryland and I want to come here again! I’ll never forget these two weeks. I got many beautiful and fun time. Thank you very much to Nina, Kevin, Tim, Ji Won, Laura and other members of this program.

The day before yesterday, August 12, we went to Annapolis. We took a boat ride. It’s very exciting! The scene is beautiful. After, we came back to the hotel some of us went to George town again because we hadn’t enough time to shop. Laura and Ji Won took us there. Mentors always came with us. I think they are very kind!

Yesterday, we went to Mount Vernon and saw George Washington’s mansion. Each room is different color. The view from the house is good. We can see the river and it’s quiet. We also see slave’s room. The room is very simple. I thought slaves are treated much worse but it’s not good to live, I think. After the tour, we can shop but unfortunately, many of the shops are close. So I didn’t buy anything. We met a guitarist at our hotel. He played the guitar for us. The songs are very good! I had a nice time!

August 10, we listened panel discussion. We heard America's university's system. America's university system is quite different from Japanese’s university. America’s university students must study hard and they have homework everyday and they usually pay thier tuition by theirselves. Japanese students usually don’t pay it so it was surprised to me. After listening to the panelists, we had a time to talk with them. They are very kind and they answered all my questions. Although the system of America’s university is very hard, they enjoy their school lives. After this program, I went to American university with some friends to meet my friends. However, when we reached American university, American university’s students enjoyed their free time. So we can’t meet them until 7. I went their dormitory. Looking around the dormitory is fun for me because I had never look dormitory before. We left there about 11! We came back to our hotel 12.

August 9, In Kevin’s class, we learned about differences between Japan and the US. For example, how do we order or call waiter or waitress in a restaurant. In that case, Japan and the US are not different. Kevin taught us also Russia’s case. Russia’s case, the waiter or waitress are not willing to work so we have to call them very loud voice. If we do so in Japan or the US, it’s rude. After the class, we went to Chinatown. We had to take photos. Though it’s the neighborhood of Washington, I think the people and the atmosphere are different. Walking down the street of Chinatown, there are many shops and interesting things. However, we don’t have much time to see there because we had to go another place, too. So we walked around very quickly. But my group went to China food restaurant and bought some food. It was good.

August 8, Nina, Kevin, and three mentors introduced their family. They showed their photos and explained them pleasantly. All of five have brothers or sisters and they are doing something special. I’m surprised to hear that Kevin’s brother is a rock singer so I asked Laura what is the name dose Kevin’s brother join. After the class, we went to shopping mall. I went to CD shop and find it but I didn’t buy it. I bought Laura’s recommend CD. Unfortunately, I don’t have my CD player so I can’t listen it until I go back to Japan. The mall is huge and there are many shops. I enjoyed the mall.

August 7, we had two classes and travel to DC again. We went to DC to see The Washington Post. Visiting The Washington Post made me very excited! It’s a big building. First, we saw a video about The Washington Post and then we went around the fifth floor where many reporters are working. Some people have their own rooms. The guide explained us about The Washington Post simply so I could understand but I couldn’t understand all of the explanation. I want to improve my English.

I came to Maryland August 2. It took 14hours from Japan to the US!
When we arrived at Dulles international airport, Maryland's teachers and mentors are welcomed us. Mentors are very kind.
I think it's cooler than Japan but it's very hot.
First day is passed only for move. We can only see the campus for a minite.
I'm surprised at the size of the campus! It's very big and the buildings are beautiful.

The programs we had are very good. We went a lot of memorials and monuments in Washington DC. We took Metro to go there. Metro stations' shape is interesting.
We'll go Washington again. Today we'll go Washington post. I'm looking forward to going there!
